Set against the backdrop of Bandung in 1946, amidst the turmoil of Indonesia’s fight for independence, MAR tells the story of an unyielding love between Mar, a soldier of the People’s Security Army (TKR), and Aryati, a devoted nurse. As the tragic events of the Bandung Lautan Api unfold, their love is tested by the harsh realities of war and the sacrifices made for freedom.
